CELIAC IN INDIA

Though this disease is not much popular in India, as compared to other western countries, it's still prevalent here in a small percentage of the population.
Most of the people go undiagnosed or misdiagnosed.

When you tell people you have this celiac disease...there 1st expression is "Whhhhaaat is this?"
and
"Gehun nhi kha sakte..bhaiya doctor change karao!"
"Arey fir khate kya ho? bacha hi kya tumhare liye?"

Well, it's really difficult to survive in a country where wheat is the major grain and most of the food products are made from it.
One will have to abstain from delicious bhaturespanipuri, puri, jalebi and many other sweet dishes.
And it's very difficult in the beginning. But gradually, you know how to cope up with it.

And I tell you, there is an alternative to make a gluten free dish for most of the dishes. It may not taste same, but it will definitely not taste bad. You can also buy gluten free products from market to make dishes. I keep good reserves of gluten free maida to make my favourite dishes.

In India, you can buy gluten free food from amazon.in (click to open). I have bought many things from a brand named ZERO-G. There products included gluten free flour(jwar, ragi , amranth,), hing, maida replacer, bhatura mix, dalia and many more.
